Harry Mackarness – Coach, Hybrid Athlete and ex Army Officer

“More flare than Salisbury Plain after dark”

Harry served a decade in the British Army, earning commendations ranging from the Prime Minister of the UK to senior US SOF leadership, before making the move to the civilian world to work in a corporate City job. It was during this time that he realised how his friends and colleagues had fallen off the health & fitness wagon, mainly due to a lack of understanding of training and nutrition, so he founded his own business to rectify this.

Harry’s coaching business took off so quickly that he decided to take it full time, leaving the city to focus on improving his clients’ mental and physical health. He recently took the work remote and embarked on travels all over the world to force himself out of his comfort zone.

“Physical fitness and mental health are inextricably linked, both positively and negatively; having used extreme amounts of phys to try and overcome PTSD it became clear that I was doing himself more harm than good, and at that moment I realised I needed to make a positive change for myself and for those around me. Staying fit and active has always played a huge factor in keeping my life on track, but once you realise how you can achieve those things in lots of different ways it opens up the world to you.

I made the plunge and quit my office job to take some time to travel the world and see how I can be happy and healthy all over the globe, whilst using my in depth fitness knowledge to train people remotely at the same time. From climbing mountains in Ecuador, to swimming with sharks and turtles in the Galápagos Islands, beach workouts in Dubai, and CrossFit in Thailand, it’s been a hell of a journey

Reach out any time if you have questions about fitness, mental health, supplementation, or even thinking about joining the military!”
